    In the UK we call these ladybirds and I love seeing them. As a child I would pick one up carefully and let it walk across my hand and return it to somewhere I considered safe for it. Maybe I would have thought twice about it had it been known to me as a ladybug.
    I love your picture of the ladybug/bird she contrasts so beautifully with the white flower on which she has landed. It's not often I see them fly, mostly they seem to be walking unless disturbed.
